Peter Ouwerkerk studied at the Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinckâ Amsterdam Conservatory. Since his graduation concert recital in St. Bavo Church in Haarlem, and winning the first prize during the “Rijnstreekâ“ International Organ Competition in Nijmegen, he works steadily and successfully on an international career as concert organist. He performed in all important Dutch churches and concert halls, and also in Western Europe, China, Russia and Belarus
Besides his activities as recitalist, he is author of articles on musical themes, chief editor of a Dutch magazine on music, and Director of the International Organ Festival in Haarlem. He is also an organ teacher and for the national Dutch Church, coordinates the education of church musicians. Peter Ouwerkerk is conductor of the chamber choir VociVivaci. He lives near Amesterdam.
