Białystok is the city where the creator of Esperanto was born, and it is here, in a multilingual, multicultural space, that the idea of an auxiliary language for communication across divisions was born.
For many years, Białystok Esperantists have been following the idea of Ludwik Łazarz Zamenhof (1859-1917), continuing to learn Esperanto, shaping Esperanto culture, organizing events, translating literature, publishing books and hosting Esperanto speakers from distant corners.
We are offering an extensive exhibition consisting of over 200 photographs that document the aforementioned spheres of Esperanto culture. We would like to thank the people who shared their private photos.
