The year 2022 was full of many cultural events. There was also something happening on the music market, where the blues singer Amiya, who came from the wings of none other than Brenda Boykin, became a permanent fixture. Last year was definitely her time. She was appreciated not only by fans of this genre, but also by people from the industry, who began to compare her voice to Amy Winehouse or Kalina Jędrusik.
Amiya lives in Gdańsk. She is currently promoting her latest album “Roots”, which was created in the style of roots blues, cool jazz, soul, latin and funk. It is a very personal album, not only because the artist is the author of lyrics and music or a producer. Amiya talks about her experiences on the album, which gives the listener the impression that the listener is her friend to whom she confides her worries. The album can be listened to on the Internet, and individual pieces are also presented by various radio stations throughout the country.
