The 302 best press photos from this year’s edition of the Grand Press Photo competition will be on display from January 9 to 30 in Białystok. The organizers of the competition: the “Press” magazine and the Grand Press Foundation as well as the Partners of the City Exhibition – the City of Białystok and the Białystok Culture Center have the pleasure of inviting you to see the exhibition at the Białystok Culture Centre.
The exhibition presents 302 photographs: 48 single photos, 11 photo reportages, five documentary projects, eight single photos and three photo reportages in the Young Poland category. These works made it to the finals of the competition, in which the jury was chaired by American photojournalist, six-time winner of the World Press Photo – Ami Vitale.
The title of Photo of the Year went to Wojciech Grzędziński’s photograph (for “The Washington Post”) of Irina Maniukina, who plays the piano in her house, which has just been bombed by the Russians. “We were literally speechless and that’s the power of photography,” said Ami Vitale, the president of the jury.
