„Jestem przestrzeń” (“I Am the Space”) – Monika Borzym’s concert
Monika Borzym – this incredibly charismatic vocalist with an absolutely unique voice has released already four albums, first two recorded in USA and highly appreciated by Polish audience – platinum record for „Girl Talk” (2011) and for „My Place” (2013).
She played classical piano before she decided to focus fully on singing. In 2008 she received a full scholarship in University of Miami Frost School of Music and later a scholarship in LA Music Academy, where she studied with Tierney Sutton (8 Grammy nominations) and Dorian Holley (Michael Jackson, The Tonight Show).
Monika’s music career began in 2009 with her performance at the biggest Polish jazz festival – Jazz Jamboree. She appeared on stage at the invitation of violinist and saxophonist Michał Urbaniak, who used to cooperate with Miles. The performance resulted in signing a contract with Sony in 2010.
Being open to a different musical directions. She appears in many other projects, i.e. featuring on last three albums of a recognized Polish rapper Ten Typ Mes, as well as a composer on varies songs for other Polish singers.
She studies psychosexology which next to music has become her passion and a life challenge.
She just released her new concert project singing pieces by her favorite band Radiohead arranged by widely awarded Polish composer/arranger/pianist Nikola Kołodziejczyk. Its unique instrumentation consisting of 3 French horns, bass clarinet, viola da gamba and improvising jazz Trio Stryjo brought her large interest resulting in selling two full houses on the first show. The concert album is coming soon.
Kapela Betela (The Betel’s Band) – the band consisting of actors of the Białystok Puppet Theatre: Alicja Bach, Krzysztof Pilat and Paweł S. Szymański, as well as Cezary Just – a musician from the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic.
The participants will be provided with free song books featuring the most popular insurgent songs.
